Day 6
[firstname]: How do you keep 'em coming back for more?

Hi [firstname],

Starting a membership site is one thing; running a membership site is another. You need to make sure your members have a compelling reason to keep their subscription going and return to your site over and over again.

You should, of course, keep your site regularly updated with new and compelling content, up to the minute data, or the latest software; however, a great way to get members coming back for more is to involve them in the site itself. The best way to do that is to have a forum.

A forum (also called a discussion board) enables members to ask questions and get answers from other members. This is data that other people are creating for you, which you can use to your advantage.

First of all, sometimes people come back to a membership site just for the forum. This is especially true in hobby or health related niches where people can share stories and anecdotes that may be of interest to other members. In fact, your entire membership site could be a forum the Warrior Forum (http://warriorforum.com) is a perfect example of this.

Secondly, you can use the forum to find out what your members are interested in and create products or services around that. So (for example) if you find the same questions being asked on the forum over and over again, you could write an article that provides the answers, and post it on the main part of your membership site. Or you could hire a coder to create a piece of software or an app. that solves a particular problem and offer it as a software as a service product or even as an optional upgrade to your membership site at a higher fee. That will definitely keep 'em coming back!

If you're running your membership site on Wordpress there are a number of both free and paid-for forum plug-ins available. A search in the plug-ins area of the Wordpress dashboard should point you in the right direction.

Warmly,

[Your Name]
